Racing Car Games - GT Pro Series

GT Pro Series

GT Pro Series

GT Pro Series w. Wheel Wii

Customer Review: Great game, but needs more stuff

GT Pro Series is the best racing game I've played on the Wii so far. The player can either use the wii remote or the wheel that comes with it. Like Ford Racing 3, GT Pro Series also has a wide array of vehicles from many brands like Toyota or Nissan. The only downside is that in most cups, you can't choose the car that you want only the ones that you can only choose. Also, there seems to be not that many tracks.

Customer Review: Some Pros, Some Cons

Overall I like the game and it was worth it (mine came with the wheel).

The graphics are dated but when you are zipping along at full clip they are good enough, not real eye candy but ok.

The controller adds an element of excitement and fun.

The kids really like racing against each other.

Worth buying once the price comes down a bit.

Racing Car Games - Puzzle Car Race (Young Puzzles)

Puzzle Car Race (Young Puzzles)

Puzzle Car Race (Young Puzzles)

Customer Review: A bit different than the others in the series

We have nine books in this Puzzle series (Ocean, Planet, Castle, Pyramid, Dungeon, Farm, Jungle, Mountain, and Car Race). We just got this one and it's a bit different than the rest. In general, it's the same formula with a few slight changes. There are several puzzles regarding calculating the time, and some addition. This is the first book in the series that I have encountered with time telling puzzles. For example, one puzzle asks when the car race started, after telling you that they started off 15 minutes after they arrived. So, you need to look at the clock, be able to read it to say it's 8:15am, and then know that 15 minutes later would be 8:30am. Once we calculated the time together the first time we read it, the boys aren't really interested in doing that puzzle again. They already know the answer. So, I don't see it as very interesting on a re-reading basis.

Also, the book is lacking the feature where they show you a set of 10-12 objects on the intro page, and you have to find one on each double page spread. It does have a person you are supposed to locate on each page, but not the feature of finding the myriad objects (one of the features of the other books that my boys most enjoy).

In general, I did not like the puzzles in this book as much as the puzzles in the others. The concept of the story is a nice one (they are competing in a road race), but I was vaguely disappointed in the puzzle execution. My boys (4 and 6) like the book, and have been reading it on vacation, but I think that is the newness novelty of it. Ocean, Planet, Pyramid and Dungeon are probably their favorites.

Customer Review: Awesome Game!!

This is a really great game. I enjoy having the extra features that the standard edition doesn't. I would reccomend this game to anyone. Also anyone who has already played and liked the previous NFS games, this is a great buy. The canyon races are very fun, but sometimes the camera angles that it forces you to take are a bit annoying but other than that it is great. The cop chases are good and the customization is top notch with the Autosculpt feature. Most of my cars are fully Autosculpted and look great.

The one major flaw I ran into was when I took the game to a friends house and played it on his PS2, which was the older fat version, the game had to occasionaly pause and load the next part of a course. I played like that for a while and eventually fell through the map...

Customer Review: Need for Speed Carbon

This game is just flat out agerage. It totaly lackes the seens of speed that the other 3 Need for Speed titels for the Play Station 2 had. The new auto sculpt mode is fun but I was really hopeing that I could mod any part in the game I wanted, not just parts they said I could. The racing is also just flat out broken. With no seens of speed at all you qwickly lose track of where you are adn crash into almost everything. Plus to top it all off EA totaly screwd up the near perfict drifting. Insted of just leaving well enough alone they went ahead and redid the drifting and made it very hard to do. All in all if you want a new NFS game save up your cash buy a 360 or PS3 and then buy NFS carbon for them.

Customer Review: Not great, not bad

This game was just ok for me. The bad parts about it were that it did take awhile for the disk to install, there were no instructions about how to control the car (it's pretty easy to figure out, but it would just be nice to have some instructions on it) and I didn't think the graphics were that good. Also, the little "CARtridge" fell out a couple times on me. As for the game itself, it's a standard racing game, if you have a game system that you currently use, you can probably get a better racing game on it then this is. If you're looking for a cheap racing game that you can play almost as soon as you get it, this might be your best bet. I know that different "CARtridges" give you different advantages, but I'm not sure what the difference is, I pretty much suck at all racing games, so I'm not too worried about the actual winning of the race at this point!

Customer Review: We love this racing game!

First I have to say the online games suck! We dont like them. We tried it and my son asked to put the cd back in. They said on the package that the online portion with be discotinued without notice on or after Jan. 2010. Oh well.

Now for the acual game and controller. The cd it comes with is very easy to install. Just pop it in. It takes a while for it to download at first. Once that is done, you are ready to play. You can race on all 8 levels. Each level has special track that only a certain car can go on. It's a way to get you to buy the extra cars.

The extra cartriges are $20 a peice. I know we are getting one for sure. They are really pricey though.

My almost 6 year old, really loves this game, and so do I. We do like video games and the controller is similar to the xbox 360 joysticks. There is no delay or anything with it. It does take some time to get used to the controls though, as it usually does with all new to you controllers.

Thisgame would make an awesome gift. Probably going to give this as a gift to a few 5-7 year old boys on my christmas list.
